Up to 50,000 Green Cards Awarded to Global Lottery Winners
The United States State Department has announced the winners of the 2022 Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) program, commonly known as the "green card lottery." The DV program awards up to 50,000 immigrant visas each year to individuals from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States.
This year, DV-2025 entrants from around the world entered their confirmation information to check their status. The winners were selected based on a random lottery draw, and they have been notified via email and the Entrant Status Check on the Electronic Diversity Visa website.
Diversity Visa winners may apply for permanent residency in the United States. To do so, they must complete the immigrant visa application process, provide evidence of their eligibility, and pay the required fees. Winners may only legally reside in the United States after they have been approved for an immigrant visa and have entered the country on a valid Green Card.
