Impressive performance in Bonn sees young Werkself through to the next round
Leverkusen's U19 team has advanced to the semifinals of the FVM Cup with a convincing 10-0 victory away to Bonner SC 41.
The young Werkself put in an impressive performance in the quarterfinal match, dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities. The goals came from a variety of sources, with seven different players getting on the scoresheet.
Leverkusen took the lead early on through a goal from Iker Bravo, and they never looked back. The young Spaniard doubled his tally shortly after, and Karim Bellarabi added a third before the break.
The second half was just as one-sided, with Leverkusen adding seven more goals to their tally. Florian Wirtz scored twice, while Emrehan Gedikli, Mateusz Bogusz, and Noah Okafor also got on the scoresheet.
The win sees Leverkusen advance to the semifinals of the FVM Cup, where they will face either Borussia Mönchengladbach or Fortuna Düsseldorf. The match will be played on April 27.
